We took a funicular to the top of Monserrate Hill, which is a peak at 10,000 feet above sea level. This is a destination for pilgrims as well as tourists. Many pilgrims ascend to the top of Monserrate Hill on their knees. This is the 1st Station of the Cross.
I had originally intended to only include one or two of the Stations of the Cross depictions, but I found them so affecting in this setting that I decided to share more of them.The third station of the cross. Jesus falls for the first time.
