Next to ahu is this big round stone around 2 1/2 ft in diameter, that was named the Navel of the World, Te Pito O Te Henua, known in the old times as Tita’a hanga ‘o te henua. According to the legend, was brought by Hotu Matu’a on his vessel. It’s a round and smooth stone, which concentrates a magnetic and supernatural energy called mana.
